When Carl and I got Piper, our first Mini Dachshund, we had NO idea how besotted we would become. She's our dream, with all the typical attributes and behaviors that dachshunds display. One negative is their fragile backs, so we attempt to limit their impulse to jump, or should I say "fly" off the sofa or bed at the faintest sound.
